Founded in 1992 by former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, Joseph A. Califano, Jr, our interdisciplinary experts collaborate with others to promote effective policies and practices.

  • The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.

Remember that your local programs have Lifebooks available if you would like to use these "scrapbooks" to work with your CASA kid(s) on documenting their life as they've been placed in Foster Care.
