Message from Nebraska CASA Board of Directors President, Philana Blakely
CASA’s mission to uplift the voices of children in foster care aligns deeply with my belief, that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and protected. I accepted this role with Nebraska CASA not for recognition, but to ensure our board leads with courage, vision, and an unwavering commitment to justice.I’ve dedicated my life to advocating for vulnerable youth and adults, building equitable systems, and leading with purpose. My journey, includes growing up with parents that engaged in domestic violence. My experience spans youth-centered work, policy development, team leadership across diverse communities, and serving others whenever possible. This has taught me that real change happens when compassion meets accountability. Together, we’re not just supporting volunteers, we’re building a movement of hope and impact for Nebraska’s most vulnerable children.
