Immigration law is undergoing significant changes in enforcement policy. Among those shifts is the use of federal law enforcement to contuct "wellness checks" to communit with and monitor the lives of unaccompanied noncitizen children and their sponsors. This presentation will discuss the basic mechanics of how unaccompanied children are processed under our immigration laws, the practical use of law enforcement in willness checks, and legal and community quesitons arising from policy shifts.
