Our mission is simple—join us for impact.

Nebraska CASA Association is a network of 22 local programs in Nebraska serving 55 counties. We recruit, screen, train and support Court Appointed Special Advocates. Those advocates are volunteers - just like you - who are appointed by a judge to speak for the well-being of abused and neglected children.

Celebrating the Power of Volunteerism: A Tribute to CASA Volunteers and Beyond

As National Volunteer Week draws to a close, we take a moment to extend our heartfelt appreciation to CASA Volunteers and all those who selflessly contribute to building safer and kinder communities for children and families.

The Heart of Volunteerism: Empowering Nebraskans

Did you know that in 2021 alone, 506,880 Nebraskans dedicated an astounding 39.2 million hours to volunteer service? Within this remarkable collective effort, CASA Volunteers stand out as the driving force behind our mission to advocate for children and youth in foster care.

Who Can Be a CASA Volunteer?

Contrary to common misconceptions, anyone over the age of 21 with a clean record can become a CASA Volunteer. With more than half of our volunteers balancing full-time employment, we welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions. No legal or social work experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to equip volunteers to serve as Friends of the Court.

Making a Difference: The Role of CASA Volunteers

CASA Volunteers typically dedicate around 10 hours monthly to visiting and advocating for the children under their care. From engaging with parents and teachers to attending team meetings and drafting reports for the judge, volunteers play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and best interests of the children they represent.

Supported Every Step of the Way

At CASA, our dedicated staff provides unwavering support to our volunteers throughout their journey. From assisting with court appearances to offering guidance on report writing and connecting volunteers with community resources, we are committed to empowering our volunteers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
