Turn your retirement savings into a voice for a child.

If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD, directly from your IRA to Nebraska CASA Association.

A QCD allows eligible IRA owners to make a charitable gift directly from an IRA without first receiving the distribution as taxable income. If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution, a qualifying QCD may also count toward that requirement.

Why consider a QCD?

  • Support children and CASA programs throughout Nebraska.
  • Make your charitable gift directly from your IRA.
  • The qualifying distribution generally is not included in your taxable income.
  • A QCD may count toward your Required Minimum Distribution if you are required to take one.
  • You do not have to itemize deductions to benefit from the QCD's income treatment.

For 2026, an eligible individual may make up to $111,000 in Qualified Charitable Distributions, subject to IRS requirements.
